Children grow and develop at their own pace
This tracker is designed to take a look at what your child’s communication skills are compared against the general reference for milestones expected at their age-level, and is not a diagnostic tool. Some children may meet milestones earlier or later. If you have any concerns about your child’s development, feel free to reach out to our speech and language therapists for advice.
How to Complete the Tracker
When completing the tracker, think about how your child communicates in their first language - the language they understand and use most during their day.
Rating Scale:
✓ Yes - Select if you've observed this behavior at least 2-3 times and feel confident it's something your child can do when given the opportunity.
✕ No - Select if you have not yet observed this behavior or skill.
? Not Sure - Select if you're unsure whether you've seen this skill or aren't sure what it looks like in action.
Example Question:
"My child responds to his/her name when called."
✓ Choose "Yes" if they usually turn their head or look up when called
✕ Choose "No" if they rarely respond or don't seem to notice
? Choose "Not Sure" if you're unsure whether they respond consistently
