Principal Occupational Therapist
Amelia is a paediatric occupational therapist who believes that every child can reach their potential with the right support. With a decade of experience working in special education settings, she has supported children with a wide range of developmental needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Global Developmental Delay (GDD), as well as physical and multiple disabilities.
Amelia holds a Master of Occupational Therapy Practice from Monash University. She specialises in supporting children with challenges in sensory processing, self-regulation, fine and gross motor development, handwriting, and attention difficulties.
Amelia adopts a child-led and strengths-based approach in her practice, believing that attunement and rapport are key to understanding each child’s needs. Drawing on her experience working with families, Amelia understands the challenges and stresses parents face in supporting children with additional needs. Her goal is to empower children and families with strategies and skills that can be applied beyond therapy sessions.
Beyond her clinical work, Amelia has conducted trainings for teachers, parents and professionals. She was involved in curriculum design and co-led the Social Emotional Learning (SEL) committee to develop the school’s SEL curriculum and implemented school wide practices to enhance support for students.
Amelia is trained in various evidence-based approaches such as Ayres Sensory Integration, Handwriting Without Tears, Zones of Regulation, The Alert Program, DIR Floortime, and The SOS Approach to Feeding.
Fun Fact: Amelia enjoys designing multi-sensory spaces — OT gyms, calming spaces, and sensory motor play areas!
